Our Story

Mount Eden Flooring Xtra is part of the same local, family-owned business that began in Kumeu in 1996, founded by Len Gurney, who is still actively involved today. After growing a strong reputation built on trust, craftsmanship, and genuine community relationships, we had the opportunity to bring those same values to the Mount Eden area — proudly taking on the Mount Eden Flooring Xtra store in 2019.

We are not a corporate — we’re a local family-owned business that believes in doing things properly. We care about our customers, our installers, our suppliers, and our community.

Our focus is simple: Quality products, honest advice, and flooring installed to last.

Now led by second-generation owner, Brad Gurney, our Mount Eden store brings together design inspiration, product knowledge, and genuine, down-to-earth service. Whether you’re renovating a character villa, modernising a townhouse, refreshing a commercial space, or building new — we’ll guide you through the selection process, provide straightforward advice, and ensure your flooring is installed to the highest standard by skilled professionals.

We also offer in-home consultations, so we can work with you in your own space, with samples and expert guidance tailored to your project.
