Caring for Timber
Timber flooring is a natural product and so has specific care requirements. With these simple guidelines, you can expect your floor to look its best for years to come. Each manufacturer has cleaning and maintenance specific to their products, please always refer to your care and maintenance instructions when looking after your timber floor. The general rules for caring for timber flooring are:
Use a dedicated timber cleaning kit
Use a dedicated timber cleaning kit and a mop with a microfibre head to avoid using too much water on the planks.
Regular cleaning
For regular maintenance, we recommend weekly dry cleaning with a vacuum cleaner or a dry mop, and a damp mop once or twice a month.
For oiled floors
A treatment with oil every 12 months will stop your floor from looking dry and dull, and it brings out the natural beauty of the timber.
