This season showcases four stunning builds that are the most impressive architecturally designed houses The Block NZ has ever seen, set in Auckland’s aspirational inner-west suburb of Point Chevalier. All of the hard flooring and carpet featured throughout the homes has been proudly provided by Flooring Xtra. Join us each week, as we take a look at the teams’ finished rooms and see how they bring their ideas (and flooring) to life!

Things got serious on Three’s The Block NZ, as the teams took on living room week! We loved watching the teams transform their spaces. Which was your favourite living room?

THE WINNING LIVING ROOM: Connie & Rach

Connie & Rach's living room has the 'wow factor', with its vaulted ceiling and double height windows. Connie & Rach have kept an open and impressive vibe, with white neutral walls and sheer curtains. The decor has a relaxed luxurious feel, utilising natural fabrics and soft textures in pastel and earthy tones.

Featured in the living room is Quick-Step Amato engineered timber in Pure Oak Extra Matt from Flooring Xtra. Amato's extra matt finish gives a luscious natural look, providing the feel of timber flooring in its finest form. The floor is topped with the Mackenzie Rug in Natural Straw (200x300cm), a chunky loop pile rug made from 100% wool.

Tim & Arthur's Living Room

Drawing upon elements of mid century modern design, Tim & Arthur's living room is an ode to a relaxed yet refined lifestyle. With the fireplace as the focal point, the room exudes a warm, comforting and cosy feel.

On the floor in the living room is Quick-Step Imperio engineered timber in Natural Heritage Oak Oiled. The extra-long and extra-wide planks breathe class and quality, highlighting the feel, authenticity and craftsmanship of real wood. The room is finished with the Belverde rug in Storm Grey (160x230cm), a luxurious bamboo and wool blend rug with a mottled appearance.

Meg & Dan's Living Room

A statement artwork is the centrepiece for Meg & Dan's elegant living room. The use of wooden materials in muted tones throughout give the room a calm, warm and spacious feel, while the touches of green invite a sense of the natural world inside.

On the floor in the living room is Quick-Step Impressive laminate in Soft Oak Natural. Quick-Step Impressive laminate has extra solid and hard wearing planks that look and feel exceptionally natural, for the look of a real timber floor at a fraction of the cost. The floor is complemented by the Te Oka rug in Bark (200x300cm), a chunky yet natural looking loop rug made from Jute and Cotton.

Dylan & Keegan's Living Room

Bold blue hues create a playful, warm and vibrant atmosphere in Dylan & Keegan's living room. The living area is brought together by the circular coffee table and Tairua rug, creating the perfect setting for many a social occasion!

On the floor in the living room is Quick-Step Majestic laminate in Desert Oak Brushed Dark Brown. Quick-Step Majestic's extra wide planks feature authentic rustic timber patterns, emanating a luxurious, spacious look and feel. The floor is finished with the Tairua rug in Silver Birch (240cm round), a natural look rug made from wool and viscose, perfect for layering under furniture and home decor items.
